Championship 202324 Managers

Championship Gears Up for 2023/24 Season with Managerial Overhaul

Seven Clubs Welcome New Coaches Amidst Relegation Concerns

Overview of the Managerial Changes

As the Championship prepares for its 2023/24 campaign, seven clubs have made significant changes to their coaching staffs. Notably, three of these teams have brought in new managers following their relegation from the Premier League.

The most high-profile appointment is that of Vincent Kompany at Burnley. The former Manchester City defender has been tasked with guiding the Clarets back to the top flight after their disappointing demotion. Other notable changes include the arrivals of Marcelo Bielsa at Cardiff City, Steven Gerrard at Sheffield United, and Neil Warnock at Middlesbrough.

The remaining four clubs that have made managerial changes are: Preston North End, hiring Ryan Lowe from Plymouth Argyle; Reading, appointing Paul Ince as their new manager; Huddersfield Town, bringing in Mark Fotheringham from Darmstadt 98; and Hull City, who have signed Liam Rosenior from Blackpool.

With all 24 Championship teams now having a permanent manager in place, the stage is set for an exciting and competitive season ahead. The managerial changes that have taken place could have a major impact on the outcome of the campaign, as teams strive for promotion to the Premier League or to avoid relegation to League One.
