Germany Joins International Common Armoured Vehicle System Program
Patria to Spearhead Development Efforts
Patria 6X6 Platform Selected for Troop Transport and Combat Support Roles
Under the international Common Armoured Vehicles System (CAVS) program, Patria has been selected to lead the development of a new armored vehicle system. CAVS, originally established by Finland and Latvia, is a joint program of multiple governments aimed at developing a common armored vehicle platform for use by participating nations.
Germany will be the fifth country to join the first stage of the multinational cooperation. The German military has proceeded to the research and development agreement phase of the Common Armoured Vehicle program, paving the way for Patria to advance the product development of the CAVS system.
The Patria 6x6 platform, primarily designed for troop transport roles, is suitable for configuration for other combat support roles. Its modular design allows for flexibility in meeting the diverse requirements of participating nations.
