Texas Tech Red Raiders' Top Running Back to Return
RB Tahj Brooks has proven to be a rising star and will be returning next season
Texas Tech University Red Raiders running back Tahj Brooks has announced that he will be returning for his senior season in 2023. The news comes as a major boost for the Red Raiders, who are looking to build on a successful 2022 season that saw them finish with a 7-6 record.
Brooks has been a key part of the Red Raiders' offense since arriving on campus in 2020.
As a true freshman, he rushed for 1,078 yards and scored 10 touchdowns. He followed that up with a strong sophomore season in 2021, rushing for 898 yards and averaging 6.7 yards per carry. He injured his knee four games into the 2022 season but returned to start the final four games.
Brooks is expected to be a focal point of the Red Raiders' offense in 2023 and play a significant role.
He is a dynamic playmaker who can make big plays in both the running and passing game. He is also a tough runner who is not afraid to take on contact. With a full year of experience under his belt and a clean bill of health, Brooks is poised for a breakout season in 2023.
The Red Raiders will be looking to make a run at a bowl game in 2023 and contend for a Big 12 title. Having Brooks back in the fold will give them a much better chance of achieving those goals. Brooks' return is a major boost for the Red Raiders and the entire Texas Tech football program.
